This is a Linestrider reproduction deck by the Llewellyn publishing company. A very esoteric and potent version of the sacred Tarot. The Linestrider Tarot has its own feel in the hands, dimensions for the cards are closer to that of playing cards rather than the wider traditional size of most Tarot decks. The cards also have a light, matte finish on them which still allows for easy shuffling yet giving the visceral ambiance and feel of the deck one that stands out from others that may or may not be on the table of divination. It is no easy feat to blend minimalist, digital collage - graphic artwork into a structure of divination that is the sacred Tarot. Siolo Thompson is an author and creator with skill enough to accomplish this. Mrs. Thompson was intent on coalescing symbolism and iconography representative of logic with imagery with an evocative and magical aesthetic.
“Linestriding is about walking in two worlds—one foot in each to discover guidance. Drawing inspiration from the edge while still moving forward on the Fool's journey, this Rider-Waite-Smith-based deck helps uncover the answers you seek about health, love, career, and much more.”
-- Siolo Thompson
To stride the line in reflecting the traditional Tarot archetypal iconography is a fascinating arrangement for a deck’s imagery. Inspirational design of the sacred Tarot is often guided in some measure by the higher consciousness of the divine counterpart or aspect of the designer. The Linestrider Tarot was crafted for obtaining guidance in life, finance, and general areas of concern that all people endeavor to navigate, this set of cards has a proclivity for these kinds of messages and guidance. The deck is printed on quality card stock, sublime inking reveals gentle watercolour styling and soft pastel colours. The companion guidebook recommends going through each card of the seventy eight card deck and writing down initial feelings and energies each of them confers to oneself before reading through the divinatory meanings and interpretations described within the accompanying booklet. Even though the Linestrider Tarot is based on the RWS, there are several cards which are very specific and unique compared to the standard iconography typically associated with the card Siolo chose for them. In the guidebook Mrs. Thompson details how and why she came to select certain representative, minimalist artwork for certain cards, while keeping the majority of the deck in alignment with that of the traditional symbolism and detail. The energies and the current found in this deck of cards resonate in a very specific and subtle manner, one that any clairvoyant would find most interesting. Certainly more experienced readers who connect deeply with their deck, often after performing their own consecration of the cards and or the use of ancient shamanic enchantment practices for any new deck will recognize the Linestrider Tarot as a divinely inspired set of the sacred divination tool.
