Silver Witchcraft Tarot, a 2016, Lo Scarabeo deck of the sacred Tarot. Here Lo keeps the design of this deck very straightforward, bringing Pagan symbolism, Pagan moon phases, and Pagan holy days and holiday into the traditional Rider Waite-Smith system for intuitive opportunities for the reader and a solid energetic connection with Source or Spirit energy.
Lo describes this Tarot as being one of “this deck offers knowledge of a material, emotional, and spiritual nature.” Scarabeo is slightly ambiguous here, but for good reason, as his hope for those who work with this deck will be guided and answered by Spirit, ancestral energies, planetary pagan energies of Source and the divine emanations the decks design and iconography tap directly into in a pure and simple manner.
Card dimensions were scaled down in width by Scarabeo giving the deck a thinner feel in the hands, and Lo chose a card stock that would allow some flexibility, combined with a high gloss finish, making a deck of seventy eight cards very easy to shuffle. These are cards that can be shuffle quickly and the energetic potency is congruent with this aesthetic. Some Tarot or Oracle decks have a substantial signature of energy around them, and in them. Readers will often turn these cards over methodically, with a degree of solemness one could say. Which is fine for those other decks, however, Lo wanted the energy of the Silver Witchcraft Tarot to be one of current and movement, one of action and indication, both the cards Spirit divines for the spreads and the manner in which the cards themselves are handled during a reading.
Any witch would be well pleased with this deck. The Pagan symbolism alone contained within the deck’s imagery makes it worth the purchase price. The readings one can produce with this deck are accurate and truly guide any new or even experienced reader towards a deeper and more intuitive read from the cards. Not to categorize this deck as a ‘teaching’ or ‘learning’ deck for neophytes, as there are several great decks for individuals just starting out with the sacred Tarot but the Silver Witchcraft Tarot does offer intuitive expansion opportunities for any reader. This is due to the pagan moon phases and the pagan symbolism within the deck’s artwork which connect on a solid and metaphysical level with that of Source. Adding this deck to one’s collection is of course a fine idea, and bringing it out of it’s sturdy box which contains the companion guidebook to work with a few times each week would do any witch a favor of clairvoyant fine tuning.
