    1. Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) Tarot: Let us begin with the iconic Rider-Waite-Smith deck, a cornerstone of modern tarot. Created by Arthur Edward Waite and illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith, this deck revolutionized tarot symbolism with its vivid imagery and intuitive interpretations. Its influence extends far and wide, serving as the foundation for many contemporary tarot decks.

    2. Thoth Tarot: Delve into the esoteric realm of the Thoth Tarot, a masterful creation by Aleister Crowley and artist Lady Frieda Harris. This deck weaves together the wisdom of the Western esoteric tradition, Egyptian mythology, and Crowley's profound insights. It beckons the seeker to explore the depths of the subconscious, offering transformative revelations and spiritual illumination.

    3. Marseille Tarot: Travel back in time to the origins of tarot with the Marseille Tarot, a historic deck with roots in 18th-century France. Characterized by its bold, simple designs and rich colors, this deck embodies the essence of traditional tarot. Its timeless allure lies in its ability to evoke intuition and reveal profound truths through its archetypal symbolism.

What other ones should be on this list?

  • Marchetti's tarot of dreams, and the lightseers are some of my favs. I have maybe 20 different decks I shuffle around.

  • @Joy Allen Tarot of Dreams is a fave of mine, too.

  • Due to the direct influence of Seldom Dreams and this site, I have just purchased a deck of The Hermetic Tarot to aid the development of my understanding of the cards. Awesome deck in my opinion and love all the details contained therein.

@Donna Hallam Good call it is a great learning deck but is also extremely detailed and can be used on the expert level as well

  • I think that decks are very much personal choice. I have many but I guess my most favorite, or one of the favorites are Crystal Visions. Readers will probably say there's nothing special about this deck, but I love it. The deck is sassy, chatty, loves to talk to you, chatterbox I call it. :-) I had to find way to this deck, from the begginning it was not likable, now we have such a lovely connection. Love at second sight :-) But I have a beautiful connection to all my decks. I treat all with respect and patience. The same I get from them. Thoth tarot are beautiful cards too, I asked them for patience when I learned to read it and patience was delivered.

  • Fourth option to consider... Lenormand Cards.
