Founded by three Master Masons in 1877, The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was a late 19th century magical and secret society. The order taught magic and occultism through a grade system based on alchemy and the Kabbalistic tree of life. This grade system was divided into three groups; the Outer, preparatory Order, the Inner, Rosicrucian order and the Third Order, the name of which was unknown. Living initiates could make it no further than through the Inner Order as the Third Order was said to be presided over by non-living adepts called Secret Chiefs.
The Neophyte grade marked the beginning of the seeker's journey within the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. This grade marked the commencement of the blackening stage of inner alchemy. Initiates were introduced to the foundational principles of the Order and underwent purification to prepare for deeper esoteric studies. During this grade, aspirants learnt the Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram, a rite that is now popular throughout the Western Esoteric Tradition more broadly.
Zelator marked the beginning of the aspirant’s journey up the Kabbalistic tree of life as well as the start of the order’s Elemental initiations. As a Zelator, the initiate began to master their earthly life in the physical world. Zelators worked with the occult Element of Earth in this way as well as by learning the divinatory art of geomancy.
Theoricus initiates worked with the occult Element of Air. This grade corresponded to Yesod on the Kabbalistic tree of life, which rules over the astral realm. Practicus initiates may have experienced various psychic phenomena at this stage.
The Practicus grade was related to the occult Element of Water which corresponds to emotions and artistic creativity. This grade related to Hod on the Kabbalistic tree of life and taught the initiate the importance of persistence, among other things.
Philosophus initiates were thrown into the occult Element of Fire. This was a precarious grade in which the initiate had to be on their guard against the monster of pride.
Portal. As the name suggests, the Portal was an interim grade corresponding to the veil of Paroketh on the tree of life as well as the occult Element of Spirit, which rules over the other four elements. This 9 month period was an opportunity for the initiate to seek solitude and self-reflection.
The magician’s goal during the Adeptus Minor grade was to invoke the Higher Divine Genius, nowadays often known in occult circles as the Holy Guardian Angel. The title of Adeptus Minor was given after completion of all the elemental subgrades, commencing with Zelator Adeptus Minor. Initiates of this grade were also introduced to the Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram which is a rite symbolical of spiritual rebirth.
The Adeptus Major grade corresponded to the sephira of Gevurah (Severity) on the Kabbalistic tree of life. By the time the initiation ceremony for this grade was written the order had splintered into different groups. The aspiring Major Adept had the difficult and dangerous task of overcoming their own demons, so to speak, through a symbolic ritual evocation of all 72 spirits of the goetia. In order to avoid interference from benevolent forces, all 72 angels of the Shemhamphorasch had to be banished, making this a very dangerous (as well as a very lengthy) magical operation. Due to the Hermetic idea of “as within, so without”, it was believed that the overcoming of personal vices was also of spiritual aid to humanity in general.
Largely purified of their own unconscious vices, the Adeptus Exemptus initiates focused their magical abilities on selfless service and the welfare of humanity. They used their wisdom and power to aid others without thought of reward, working for the betterment of the collective consciousness.
The Third Order
At this point, the Golden Dawn adept could not progress any further whilst living. Therefore, it is impossible to discuss the three grades of the mysterious Third Order.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the grades of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn constituted a journey of personal development and spiritual emancipation. As initiates progressed through each grade, they unlocked the secrets of the universe and aligned with their Divine Soul, ultimately attaining oneness with the Divine.

Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, fertility, and ecstasy, embodies the spirit of liberation and the breaking of boundaries. His followers, known as the Maenads, engaged in ecstatic rituals, often accompanied by music, dance, and intoxication, in celebration of Dionysus. These rituals allowed individuals to transcend the limitations of the mundane world and connect with the divine through an uninhibited and ecstatic state of being.
At its core, Dionysian freedom embraces the rejection of societal norms and the embrace of instinctual desires and passions. It encourages the exploration of our innermost selves, inviting us to embrace our primal urges, creativity, and sensuality. It invites us to embrace our shadow aspects and find liberation in embracing the full spectrum of human experience, even the chaotic and irrational.
In the realm of art, Dionysian freedom has inspired countless creatives to break free from conventional forms and explore innovative and provocative expressions. From the frenzied rhythms of wild music to the avant-garde and boundary-pushing art movements, the spirit of Dionysus has infused artistic endeavors with a sense of freedom, rebellion, and creative exploration.
However, it is important to note that Dionysian freedom is not without its complexities. While it offers liberation and a sense of transcendence, it can also lead to excess and chaos if not tempered with balance. The pursuit of uninhibited pleasure without regard for consequence can lead to self-destructive behaviors and the erosion of social order.
Nevertheless, the concept of Dionysian freedom serves as a potent reminder that there is beauty and power in embracing our wild and untamed nature. It invites us to find moments of release and celebration, to connect with our primal instincts, and to challenge the constraints imposed upon us by society. Through embracing the Dionysian spirit, we can tap into the wellspring of our own creativity, passion, and vitality.
So, my fellow seekers of liberation, let us raise our metaphorical cups to Dionysus and embrace the call of Dionysian freedom. Let us dance with abandon, revel in the ecstatic moments, and explore the depths of our own being. In doing so, we may unlock hidden truths, ignite the spark of inspiration, and experience the true essence of what it means to be fully alive.

Rooted in the belief that individuals possess an innate connection to the divine and the natural world, Transcendentalists sought to transcend the limitations of society and conventional thinking. They espoused the idea of direct personal experience and intuition as sources of truth and guidance, valuing individualism, self-reliance, and the inherent goodness of humanity.
It is within the realms of American Transcendentalism that the seeds of influence upon secret societies were sown. While not explicitly linked, the core tenets of Transcendentalism resonated with the ideals of various secret orders, such as the Rosicrucian, the Freemasons, and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. These clandestine organizations, shrouded in mystery and symbolism, sought to explore hidden truths, esoteric knowledge, and the inner realms of consciousness.
Within the secret societies, the Transcendentalist principles found fertile ground. The emphasis on individualism and personal growth aligned with the notion of self-initiation and the pursuit of enlightenment. The idea that each individual possesses an inherent connection to the divine resonated with the mystical teachings and rituals practiced by these orders.
Furthermore, the Transcendentalist focus on the interplay between nature and spirituality mirrored the reverence for nature and its symbolic significance within secret societies. The belief in the divine essence inherent in all things, the interconnectedness of the universe, and the pursuit of harmony with the natural world found echoes in the rituals, symbols, and teachings of secret societies.
While the direct influence of Transcendentalism on secret societies may be difficult to ascertain definitively, the parallel themes and shared ideals suggest a kinship of thought. Both Transcendentalism and secret societies sought to explore the depths of human potential, the mysteries of the universe, and the interconnectedness of all things. They shared a fascination with esoteric knowledge, symbolism, and the quest for personal transformation.
In conclusion, the tapestry of American Transcendentalism, woven with threads of self-reliance, intuition, and the interconnectedness of all beings, holds an intriguing connection to the enigmatic world of secret societies. While the direct influence may be elusive, the parallel ideals and shared pursuit of hidden truths create a captivating tapestry where the boundaries between the seen and the unseen blur, inviting the seeker to delve deeper into the mysteries of existence.

]]>Psychic defense is a topic that comes up more often than I would hope when I am doing tarot readings. Several people per week inquire about whether someone has hexed, cursed, bound or magically attacked them. This article is written so as to give information to anyone who has this problem because it appears to be growing where it shouldn’t.
The first thing is to discern whether something really is a psychic attack. Essentially this is done by logically excluding all other possibilities (logic always rules out possibilities to get the final one) and this requires a grounded approach in the person who would be defending themselves. The mind can find it exciting, although terrifying, to have the attention of some “enemy” which is trying to “get them”. So if all things have been thoroughly ruled out through logic, we begin.
As a general rule, it is better to defend through shields and traps rather than counter-attack. This is not a moral assertion but a matter of energy usage and the amount of control we have of our own subconscious, microcosmically, compared to the control we have of the no-man’s-land or Wild West area of the macrocosmic mental spheres, or other microcosmic spaces which do not belong to us.
Essentially, the usual resources for strategic warfare such as the 48 Laws of Power, 36 Strategies of War and Art of War (though perhaps not the first) all apply here despite things not being on the physical level. You must know your enemy as much as possible and it is advisable to take the high ground as far as your karma (not quite the moral high ground) as well as within the mental scene of battle.
There are different severity levels of psychic attack which I have roughly categorized as follows but these have some overlap. Imagine these levels as parts of a pyramid because the higher levels build off of the lower ones and they are also far less common by thousands of times (multiplying).
Level 1 as I will call it is an accidental sending of negative energy or a deliberate sending or a very mild attack. It could be caused by other people or entities or yourself. If you cannot control your own negative thinking, you are attacking “yourself” meaning the energetic bodies that you occupy. If you do anything of clear detriment to you despite knowing this and having the ability to change it, you are also attacking yourself.
The most obvious way to stop this is basically to use aura control which for these purposes means an egg-shape surrounding you. Imagine it to be impenetrable, reflective or with wards on that stop negative thoughts and reactions to negative emotions. All of these things as well as whatever forms of spiritual hygiene you usually partake in are good practice regardless of attack. Ultimately, any skilled occultist is not bothered by these things. However most people in life are actually frequent yet oblivious victims to this kind of attack.
Level 2 of attack is someone making a deliberate effort to attack you one time in a concentrated/powerful manner. This includes people hiring an experienced occultist to attack which is usually not much different except that a dark occultist may use entities that they have bonds with to cause something. The effects of this level of attack may be job loss, a period of guilt/shame, a relationship break-up, disproportionate and disruptive karmic backlash (e.g making it tenfold), causing nightmares or anxiety over a period of days to weeks or some other thing within this kind of range.
The response to this is to notice as soon as possible and set up shields, wards and other things to block the attack. Then cast a conditional binding that is triggered only if the person tries to do anything else. It does not have to be a named person. It could simply be “the person/entity that attacked me”. All you need is something identifying them as the attacker; your Higher Self knows how to find the exact person or entity so using it’s knowledge can be extremely beneficial.
Level 3 is a group attack or a persistent attack which uses strategy to bypass or overwhelm your defenses. When a group raises energy together, the energy is magnified exponentially with each person. A group is no more than 12 but usually no more than 6 due to the fact that everyone must be in total harmony, acting as one. Satanic groups use 9. In such a case, binding is probably less useful (depending on your abilities) but the lower level methods used in combination with secrecy, diversion, and sabotage may well be enough to stop some of this level.
If it is a group, the first thing is to bind or disrupt it as a whole, which means you need as much information as possible about why you are being attacked and who by (including group identities). So find out as much information as possible; you can use this information to decide how to proceed. Such an effort is half the battle; clever attackers may attempt to limit the amount of information that you can gather by, for example, shielding their identities. In this situation, attack whatever is preventing you from getting this knowledge; it is being hidden to force you to defend in the dark whilst your enemy has night vision. Knowledge is power in this situation so long as it gives strategic advantage. Be especially vigilant concerning the veracity of the information you acquire when things are this serious, for obvious reasons. Once you have information, act strategically as required.
Aside from that, there are ways of siphoning the large amounts of energy that are being sent your way and either earthing it (so that it is neutralized), transmuting it (so that it is beneficial to you) or sending it back several times over (counter attack). What is best depends on the situation. Make sure to use caution when counter-attacking otherwise you might find it coming back more than tenfold.
An example of transmutation is to collect the vast amount of energy that was sent to you and use this same energy to break through any remaining barriers that stop you from having information that you might need. Otherwise, it might be used to put a shield around your boss so that you are not fired or to add power to protections that require energy (e.g talismans).
The Level 4 attack is anything more serious than this. It includes serious curses that are hard to lift (e.g ones that follow your soul through lifetimes) and other very sophisticated/ powerful attacks. In such a case, you want to use all previous tactics with the understanding that you are now at liberty to counter attack and use whatever devious stratagems you can come up with to win what has become a war.
Do whatever you need, preferably in line with Universal Law because if someone is a dark occultist, they are swimming against the tide in this regard. This means that if you find out that your attacker or group has some kind of karma, you can make it come early or you can talk to the forces of Saturn about making it come with a vengeance. Yes I am saying at this point that you might want to initiate into the Saturn sphere. This is not because you are becoming a dark occultist yourself but because you hopefully use your spiritual power as a representative of the Divine here on Earth. Well the job comes with powers such as being able to negotiate other people’s karma. All things appropriate, use this and similar privileges provided to you in order to bring justice (meaning balance, not revenge). In this it may be appropriate to use Gevurah as well but remember that blessing people with cleared karma (Chesed) may stop the attack in it’s tracks since a lot will have been built up with the attacker’s own persistent effort to undermine your Will. This sort of strategy is essentially summarized as the utilization of Universal Laws and Divine “mechanisms” and is most useful to the advanced Adept who is the only person really capable of dealing with this level of attack. If you are not an Adept and you find yourself under this level of assault, the first thing you must do is cast for an Adept. You don’t have to meet them on the physical plane necessarily, just get their attention and they will solve the situation because they have a responsibility to do so. There are healing lists in various places such as mystery school websites that you can add your name to as well.
Make sure that you invoke your Higher Self before performing any psychic defense, especially when in danger.
Silence
Now that we have the four levels of severity dealt with and we have strategies in place, let us emphasize the importance of silence in it’s various forms.
Prevention is ideal to keep things quiet in the first place. For the sake of conserving energy, avoid provoking people if you can help it. Don’t go looking for trouble. Additionally, do not leave yourself entirely unguarded. Set up basic general protections (without being paranoid). Make sure to close off your energy whenever you finish spiritual work. Declare yourself sovereign from those who might steal your lifeforce or have energetic cords on you etc. Your energy must be declared as your own in the spiritual context because permission is turned on by default. Qui tacet consentire videtur.
Most importantly, keep your occult abilities and practices secret. If you do tell people that you are an occultist it’s best only to do so when you want to teach people what you know (if it is public, it is not a deeper mystery), but don’t reveal the extent of your abilities. I am known to be “spiritual” but no-one privy to me being an occultist knows what powers I have, if any, except that I am “psychic” because I do this work publicly. Anecdote time; I talk to only one group of like-minded people in a casual manner and one day after criticizing harshly what somebody said on a topic of spirituality I was asked what “abilities” I have gained over my time. I replied “clearly not anger control.”
One gesture of silence which can be used in a protective manner is the Sign of Harpocrates or Sign of Silence. It is done by curling the left fist into a ball and putting this same first finger on the lower lip whilst stomping the ground firmly with the left foot. Then imagine a blue, watery vapour encircling your egg-shaped aura. This particular visualization is again linked to Harpocrates but one can use a brilliant whiteness that entirely protects the aura in a similar manner to the watery vapour except that the whiteness makes you opaque whilst the blue and watery vapour is mostly transparent. Remember that when I speak of “visualization” I am referring not just to “visual” imagination but the use of all five creative senses (or whichever are possible for you). If you have aphantasia (are unable to see in the mind’s eye) then there is simply a strong knowing which can be done in parts until you are proficient enough to combine them. For the Sign of Silence this looks like; “I see a blue vapour. It encircles my body. It envelops it in an egg shape. It is resistant to negative energies. I hear the water. I see it rise to surround me in an oval. Below my feet and above my head. It protects me.” Once proficient with this, reduce to a single awareness of “watery vapour”. Then this can be reduced to the gesture done with conviction.
The Qabalistic Cross invokes the Higher Self, seals the aura and grounds the practitioner. It is therefore useful against all attacks because the Higher Self may act to defend you or guide you on what to do. A direct invocation, even for the Neophyte, also helps.
Elemental Balance
The next thing is to balance the Elements within you. There is Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Psychic attacks of any kind will attempt to cause an imbalance in one or more of these 4 areas either through the microcosm or macrocosm. As within, so without.
Earth relates to your actions and material circumstances as well as your health and energy levels. Earth corresponds to the feet and the legs especially but also to the physical body as a whole.
Air relates to anything involving communication, travel and thoughts as well as the astral realm and the subconscious (as far as it relates qabalistically to Yesod) Air also corresponds to the chest/heart. It also relates to ego/illusion and Truth.
Water corresponds to your emotions, dreams, visions, heart-based hopes and desires, your love-life, creativity and your relationships as well as the area below the chest.
Fire relates to competition, ambition, motivations and drives, all kinds of instincts including your sexual ones, determination and the head and other parts above the chest.
Fire and Earth are a powerful combination. Water and Fire clash. Earth and Water are a powerful combination whilst Air and Earth clash. When I say that Elements clash this does not mean that these combinations are not to be used but it suggests how they might be used in a different way to the sympathetic pairs. Note that these combinations are not quite the same as what we see when using a technique of tarot reading called “elemental dignities”.
Spirit, the fifth Element, is within all 4 previous Elements and keeping them in equilibrium allows you to maintain this. Spirit relates to spiritual powers (which have come about subsequently, not ones that have been deliberately trained), the Higher Self, lifeforce, the akashic records (all knowledge of past, present and future) and similar things.
Invisibility
The Rose Cross ritual can be useful for psychic protection, secrecy and invisibility (meaning in this context not being noticed). Unfortunately, most people do it in a way that keeps them visible on the astral plane which defeats some of the intended effects of the ritual. It doesn’t matter in many cases but for our purposes it would be best to heed David Griffin’s two cents;
‘It has been claimed by Regardie and other authorities that this [The Rose Cross] Ritual does not light up the Inner Planes. Certainly, this is the case in the form which this Ritual embodies below, as it separates the different forms of vibration (that is, sound, movement, and mental imagery). Therefore, do not visualize anything while tracing the figures or projecting through them during this Ritual. Furthermore, do not vibrate Names simultaneously with movements or the tracing of lineal figures. Instead, separate each event.’ (David Griffin, Ritual Magic Manual, p.54, edition 1, Golden Dawn Publishing, Beverley Hills: Stockholm)
This is a simple point that is talked about in a different way by Josephine McCarthy in her free Quareia course. She describes a method of inner plane invisibility whereby the magician becomes so silent (meditatively) as to create a void.
There is also a fairly lengthy and wordy ceremonial ritual that involves Saturn and Binah. It is described in many places such as Frater YShY’s Adept Magic and John Michael Greer’s Circles of Power (3rd edition). This one impacts the aura and if done powerfully (especially in the more complex forms, by an advanced Adept) it might cause someone looking for you to lose sight of you “physically” if you weren’t yourself doing anything to undermine its purpose. But how? Seek and you shall find.
Be careful with your perceptions. As far as psychic defense goes, you should consider that “everything is peaceful”. As far as spiritual powers; “only god decides what is possible”. “I don’t believe/see how x is possible, therefore it isn’t” is no attitude for the critical thinker, never mind the occultist.
Assistance
If you are unsure about a specific situation or some aspect involving psychic attack/defense, it may help to consult an experienced occultist. They can help clarify firstly whether you are under attack (or how to test) and secondly how to stop it. If an Adept finds that you are under attack and they know that they have the ability to stop it then it is unseemly for them to require payment should they assist you (if you go to someone who assists as their profession though, you should expect to pay!). If they cannot assist you but are convinced of it being an attack they may give you a way to find someone who can help or basically think “person x is helped for the highest good” (a true Adept is very powerful) However, they may just as well down-play the situation, tell you to do something vaguely magical like “spin around clockwise 3 times whilst patting your head and rubbing your belly” and then Work in secret to assist you regardless of their particular abilities, in homage to the Sphinx.
]]>Whether for meditative enhancement, healing, or purposeful divination and channeling, the science of sound, its influences and affects upon our body totality is a fascinating area of study. Of the the occult sciences the use of sound or sonic manipulation is a vast and very old subject.
Large enough worth the devotion of a series of articles however, we could at least highlight a few points on the matter here in this blog post.
"Man" means mind. "Tra" means to tune the vibration. Mantra is a sound current which tunes and controls mental vibration. Activating through resonance within one’s being via the part sound plays in the physical constitution. According to the most sacred traditions, God created the world through sound. Energy vibrates. Everything in the manifest creation is vibrating and with something akin to sonic keys, unlocking a transformative process intensely activating, strengthening, and cultivating the mind.
The part sound plays in the spiritual evolution of man can be incorporated in a practitioner’s workings, their inner alchemy and energetic development and expansion of awareness.
A classic mantra is the ancient Hebraic/Aramaic “Yod Hey Vod Hey” mantra. Which has over the recent couple of years been combined with the Luciferian current by affixing it to a preeminent angelic name of Lucifer in the Enochian tongue:
“Yod Hey Vod Hey Sev To Sa Ze” enunciated as: “Yoad Hey Vahd Hey Save Tow Sah Zey”
Promoting stability, healing, and focus of purpose, or one upon their higher calling.
One of my personal favorites when it comes to sound alchemy beside the chant or mantra methods are the binaural sounds available online. The Binaural sounds are typically defined as: “two tones of slightly different frequencies are played in separate ears simultaneously (usually through headphones), the human brain perceives the creation of a new, third tone”
The resultant tone or tone frequency is equivalent to the difference between the two tones being played. To the machine mind the resultant auditory illusion is called a binaural. An example would be a tone of 404 Hz in one ear and a tone of 412 Hz in the other, they would be hearing a binaural beat of a 8 Hz frequency.
For those who enjoy and regularly utilize binaural beats many of the same benefits as meditation can be achieved. As well as increased focus, lowering of stress, a relaxation aide, and for fostering creativity.
There are ranges that the binaural tones are often categorized by, such as 4Hz and 7Hz for example, are more likely to align with theta brain waves, promoting sleep and relaxation. This is related to a process called entrainment, in which brain waves align themselves to an outside beat or frequency
I have found particular trance songs online that through trial and experimentation induce a channeling alignment with my inner soul and mind. The trap nation channel on YouTube has songs by the group Far Out and their upbeat song ‘New Beginning’ is a very effective melodic piece that opens up my clairvoyant and channeling abilities.
The use of certain uplifting and pleasant tones and harmony/melody combinations has opened up the aspect of my own being that equates to channeling, offering my writing, artistry and creativity a correspondence with spirit that is upon inspection self evident.
Aligning with one’s true self and expressing that true self into into physical life is exhilarating. It is a sensation of tapping into one’s true essence and funneling that essence into a piece of work or activity. Many have done so, actors, musicians, writers, and other artists, inventors, scientists and even spiritual teachers or gurus.
The most simple description of channeling would be to shine you light when you are doing what you love the most. The use of sounds such as mantras, chanting and music has undoubtedly a beautiful and practical role to play in inducing this phenomenon.
Like tuning your soul and mind and body into a cosmic switchboard the process attunes certain chakra, and aspects of awareness to colors, sounds and flow that originate from Source itself. Various trance states are conducive for activating these facets of awareness.
Whether a light, moderate, or deep trance state, the channeling of one’s inner light, or essence can be aided by the tones and sounds of certain frequencies and combinations. Each person will resonate more so with some than of others and it is necessary for each individual to explore their own being and try out a broad variety of mantra’s and chants, binaural beat melodies, and various trance inducing music styles. To find the one’s that effect them most positively and efficiently.
The study of tones with tools such as ritual singing bowls, bells, chimes and gongs, all the way to uplifting trance harmonies and melodies are connecting the ancient knowledge of sacred sound to this modern era. For meditative enhancement, to creative channeling from Source, Spirit, the One of the All, for healing, and even attuning to frequency energies in channeled sigil magic or summoning evocation, invocation, Sacred sound is unto itself one of the great ways of sorcery within creation.

"I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world."
The word occult comes from Latin word occultus, meaning "hidden, concealed, secret." Therefore, occult knowledge is secret or hidden knowledge. Parables can perform as a written or spoken device to reveal very deep, very spiritual knowledge and wisdom by their allegorical mechanism, that is, their symbolical narrative function which allows for many people to comprehend deeper truth.
Integral and intrinsic elements or concepts relating to the nature of humanity, the soul, and creation are often received according to a framework that they have associated that thing or things with previously, a superficial recognition. For spiritual elements, this is often a framework built up since childhood and in accordance with familial beliefs or customs, or specific religious practices one might have been raised up around. A parable has the potential to deliver new understanding, perspective, and knowledge. It bypasses preconceived notions and learned biases a person may have. Below is a narrative parable reflecting organized religion, their treatment of the people, and the historical mishandling of truth.
- The Lying Tiger 2020©
There was once a scattering of villages mingled throughout a mighty forest. A predominantly benign region this forest did have it’s dangerous side. Villagers were aware of the old tiger that lived within the forest. The old yet large tiger would appear among the villages to give warning or to tell them fascinating things. Villages even built statues of the old tiger in hopes of gaining its blessing. Most of the villagers had seen the old tiger, and some villagers had even been blessed to speak with it. The large cat knew many languages and often would converse with the elders or those who offered gifts.
This old tiger was known for answering questions regarding the ancient scrolls with which the village wise men often wrestled to understand. Indeed, it was in fact very wise and had shown foreknowledge of certain things which were yet to come. This is why the people referred to the tiger of the forest as the ‘Talking Tiger.’ Despite the adoration, the villagers were aware that the tiger of the forest was at least part of a dangerous sort. Which was smart on their part as this tiger practiced the methods of deception, at times telling of future tragedies that were to befall certain villages of the forest. Tragedies, the tiger had warned of only to then actively play a role in bringing about those events.
How awful, to be warned of pending tragedy, only to have some of their smallest children taken, never to be seen or heard from again. Despite their general apprehensions, this wild creature was accepted as a part of the forest life. Through familiarity with the ancient scrolls the old tiger eventually deciphered the prophesies of the scrolls. Selfishly choosing to guard this hidden knowledge, revealing only vagaries to the people. From the ancient scrolls the wicked feline deciphered by it’s intelligence and guile a great prophecy.
This was the prophecy of the Prince of the Age. Named among the ancient scrolls and more obscure texts as the ‘Hunter.’ It told of a prince with fierce countenance that was sent by the creator God to exact judgment upon the deceitful and duplicitous, the wicked and domineering beings among the mighty forest. The tiger was keen to be concerned as it had long ago identified itself as being of the wicked, the domineering, and deceitful elements of the forest. In fact the tiger knew of none other worse in these ways than itself. With cunning the tiger schemed to sow confusion among the people of the villages and perhaps hinder this Hunter whenever he finally arrived to the mighty forest. The tiger went about the forest visiting the villages. At first alarmed at his appearance fearing a dark omen or a portent of tragedy the tiger implored to the villagers that a great evil was in fact coming.
A dark prince called the Hunter, then the tiger laid all the suffering any soul may incur or experience at the feet of this prince foretold. The people knew that the tiger knew secret things. They also knew that the tiger often warned of tragedies that eventually came to pass, specifically the vanishing of small children. Disappearances for which neither the tiger nor the wise men of the villages were ever able to adequately explain nor give prescription against occurring.
The tiger was asked repeatedly why does the Hunter come, what is his purpose?
The tiger repeated broad assurances that the Hunter was a persecutor and only desired to torment the people and bring tragedy to the villages. Occasionally a villager would reply that they had already suffered tragedy having lost one of their children in the late evening; prompting the tiger to casually change the subject before slinking off into the forest as he would do. Fate had ordained that the simple people living in their villages would be forced to endure a great tribulation before peace would be established across the mighty forest.
The Hunter came at last, and sought to slay the tiger.
However the villagers were coerced by the deceitful forest feline, to hide it and feed it. The burden of this weighed heavy upon the simple people. With the wicked tiger in hiding and being fed by the villagers he hid among, one of those small children that could very well have met a tragic end by the silent terrorizing of the old tiger grew up to be a learned young man. Deciphering the texts and ancient scrolls for himself he discovered the truth of the Hunter. The truth was rather straightforward and made much more sense than the ravings of the old, bitter tiger who hid in fear. The Hunter never came to the villages, and the Hunter had never bothered a single villager since his arrival. And the fact noticed by everyone, since the tiger had went into constant hiding, none of the villages small children had vanished.
The old tiger became enraged! Claiming betrayal and vengeance that it would deliver to all who defied its preaching and demands. When suddenly the Hunter swooped in. Having heard the tiger railing and ranting, came into to the village and slayed the lying tiger. And then, there was peace mingled throughout the mighty forest.
]]>In this article, I provide an in depth theoretical explanation of how to gain any occult power whatsoever. I also advise on how I believe it is best to make use of any power that we do gain. Some people will differ with me on this and I make no judgement which is why I give the information here for the viewer to decide how it might be used. It is recommended that you read up on Hermetic metaphysics via The Kybalion and other Hermetic writings either before or during the study of this piece.
Though I have been doing this for less than two years, I get questions every so often from curious seekers who are entirely inexperienced. They are concerned with the special powers that they have heard whispers of which allegedly develop on the spiritual path.
Since I do psychic work, I have been asked about how to gain these abilities in particular. The answer is given via another question, to get the person to ultimately discover it for themselves. I am just a mirror, so technically it is just as much me asking the question, and them answering. Nevertheless, the questions asked upon this first query are essentially summarized as: what are the motivations? For what reason are psychic powers desired? I never desired personally to gain psychic powers but they simply were observed as existing in me from time to time without me trying to acquire them. Upon thorough investigation I confirmed their existence in myself as real, to myself and only to myself, for I can’t even be sure that you exist, never mind what you are capable of witnessing. And be assured that psychic abilities are simply a witnessing of things beyond what is normally seen. They are, in one word, awareness.
If the motivations are because one wants power or another external thing, the seeker is foolishly projecting qualities that they now attribute to external things, from within themselves. The Adept has power because they have limited their projections to those which they make consciously, not
because they have accumulated anything from without. They are actually just claiming what is theirs. As a demonstration of this, a quick exercise. Perform a ritual in whatever way it suits you that claims your power as sovereign. Essentially what you need to do is declare with sincerity that your power is yours only by Divine right and that all attachments not in line with your true Will are now severed. When you are done, note any changes in the coming months. You will notice that this ritual is a banishing rather than an invocation. Do not make the mistake of presuming that banishing is not useful for manifestation. The banishment of a projection is the accumulation of an ability.
To be “gained”, any power is simply drawn back into the Self through awareness of it. Awareness means simply to observe. Witness is a good verb because it connotes a non-attached attitude, meaning that there is no value judgement imposed on the reality of the ability. For example, it is not good, unusual or hard to attain. Instead, it simply exists in some Form, meaning an expression.
The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn previously explained this in their own way when they declared; “by Names and Images are all powers awakened and re-awakened”.
My interpretation of this is as follows. The Name is the key to power. This key is the energetic signature. (Name = energy signature) By energy I mean something without solid Form and by signature I mean it is unique to this one thing. We can refer to these signatures as atoms, virtual photons, waves, frequencies or invisible goblins but it makes no difference to their ultimate ontological status.
The Image is the Form that contains the energy signature due to a connection that is artificially made to bridge the two. This is often created by the occultist. Once the connection is made, the Image itself gradually identifies to a greater and greater extent with the energy signature that has no
Form by itself. The link becomes sympathetic enough such that when a Name is stated and an Image is pictured, a particular power can become animated. It can flare to life.
This is how godforms, invocations, evocations, talismans and whatever other magical thing that you might think of, essentially works. They have a Name and an Image. The magician either creates the Image for the Name to come into, or uses ones that already exist. Of course, the magician is not really creating anything because what they are actually doing is associating a Name with an Image in order to link the two conceptually. The association is entirely arbitrary but since the universe is Mental we might say “it is the thought that counts”. Thus, no matter how powerful a talisman, if you are entirely closed off to the idea that magic might be real, it shall have no impact that you will ever notice. Occultists may happily utilize the apparently extra power of consecrated tools and objects to the point where magnificent things are accomplished with them, whether they are aligned with their true Will or not. The former is white magic, the latter is black magic, but if one is willing to take the consequences of their actions, black magic is absolutely advisable on some occasions. Personally, I limit my black magic but plenty of wise people I know use it far more often with the understanding that they will give back in due course. This is the law of rhythm, or what we often call karma.
On another note: if you choose to ignore the rain, will you not get wet upon your heading outside? Such a scenario may imply to some that we cannot walk outside, claiming the rain as ourselves as I am describing in this very article, and remain unaffected by the water. This is a misunderstanding of what we would need to integrate within ourselves. The rain is an expression of wetness, the opposite of which is dryness. Wetness and dryness are, as we know, in polarity and according to Hermetic metaphysics this means that they are actually different aspects of the same thing. Thus, we must walk into the rain and Imagine dryness because we have control over both wetness and dryness, they both being different types of Moistness. (for want of a better word) If we get this right, we can indeed keep ourselves dry. How? The rain may not fall upon us and be dry. Instead, we dictate moisture by controlling the weather. We stop it from raining. This is actually a fairly common ability, most notably to me though, in Daoism, which has a whole specialized system in itself of advanced weather magic.
It is often believed that Names already attached to Images that have been used for a long time are more powerful. This is sometimes true. If one is not careful to observe, they can more easily be swept by the egregore within a stadium than one person in the street. But where is the Image in such a case? It is the crowd itself. By stepping back from identity with the crowd, we are uninfluenced by whatever force has become connected with it. Now Imagine that a group of occultists charge a talisman. They are forming a connection to each other by proxy, the proxy being the talisman that they are charging. All occultists must be in harmony because they are acting as one thing. We may picture it as a Venn diagram where several circles are linked by their overlap to a central one which represents the talisman. But it is also viewable as two circles merging into each other until they are superimposed, one of the circles being the occult group. Both layouts shed light upon what is happening, each in its own way.
Alternatively, we can identify ourselves with the Name containing the powers that we want, using our own awareness as the Image. The only thing we want to do this for though, I suggest, is our Higher Self. This is the macrocosm that contains all powers within it, at least in my conception. We are not doing this in an attempt to gain all the powers in the universe. Instead, we do it so that our Higher Self can grant us any power in the universe that is required. The study of the occult arts puts us in a position to accept, if we wish, the responsibility of more power than if we led a relaxed life of little effort. This is because we are a match to roles which require high performance. In other words, our true Will changes depending on what actions we decide to take. It is a process of co-creation whereby some things are destined, but the times and ways in which they are destined are still determined by our choices.
In other scenarios, it is better to simply observe the animation rather than to be involved with it. This is how we should use our psychic abilities if we are wise (but unenlightened). That is, instead of listening directly to the messages that come through the various “claires' on the astral realm, we want to rise above this plane and look down like a King looking down from a chamber in his castle. From such a vantage point he is able to observe events appropriately, being situated inside the castle but uninvolved in the activities of its inhabitants.
All analogies used should be read with certain understandings. Firstly, that all is ultimately one. These linkages, created and uncreated, are actually all inside of the occultist in timeless fashion. The demons, the angels, the elementals and the intelligences are all in a microcosmic sense within the self as well as a macrocosmic sense within the Self.
Now to demonstrate the gaining of a “power”. Let’s take the example of psychokinesis. This is the ability to move objects with the mind. There are 4 main methods.
Thus our four methods can be summarized as the use of: correspondences, external help, lux and identification. All four methods are really different parts of the same thing. They are all akashic, meaning that they relate to the element of Spirit. Lux is an expression of this element, for want of a better way of explaining.
An occultist once asked Bael, that is, a goetic spirit, to describe it’s ontological nature. Bael replied, “There are 3 of me.”
Should my article have failed so far in enlightening you to what I am trying to explain – the way to accumulate any occult ability whatsoever – let Lyam Thomas Christopher tell you about it in his own words, in the concluding parts of his book, Kabbalah, magic and the Great Work of self transformation. (Llewellyn, 2006, 1st ed, p318)
‘When we give other people-or gods for that matter-our power, we hand our un developed potential over to them, saying essentially, "This power is not my responsibility, it is yours. I am yours to command." The adept has learned to pull back that power, to curl it back in on itself to accumulate in his own aura. All things, good and bad, are contained within him. All are one. In such a state, he has the potential to claim any power in the universe as his.’]]>
This article is not medical advice and should not be taken as such, rather it is a synopsis of conversations and considerations by occultists in regard to the potential effects and or benefits of the modern diet and lifestyle on practitioners of magic and energy work. For brevity we will focus on some key dietary choices for the occultist, and then highlight some of the most agreed upon lifestyle practices when put together will only benefit one’s abilities.
Without a doubt the food stuffs we ingest have an energetic impact on our being, as does quantity and quality of our meals. The ingredients in soft drinks, energy drinks ,etc are far removed from humanity’s not so distant past and are through research being considered as a primary cause for many of the health problems in modern society. The human body, especially the base genetic operation for metabolism has not fared well in the industrialized world and the convenience of access to food 24/7, which is exacerbated even more by the questionable chemicals and artificial ingredients in the factory farmed and produced foods. The area of nutrition alone is one so broad that an article such as this simply could not cover all of the physiological values, the range of ingredients and recipes, or agreed upon benefits from the occult/energetic perspectives. The importance of healthy lifestyle choices including exercise, temperance, and beneficial practices including meditation, the right way of walking, and natural cleanses of the gastrointestinal tract, renal system, and skin.
The impact of lifestyle and dietary decisions has a profound influence on a person’s spiritual growth and development. For the occult practitioner this is an area of their incarnation that cannot be underestimated or disregarded. Beginning with one of the most controversial nutritional debates among those who practice magic, whether or not the ingestion of meat, and meat products negatively affects our energy body and subsequently our clairvoyance and abilities overall. The simple answer is yes, eating meat and meat products negatively effects our energetic totality, it is known to bring about in the long term cumulative deleterious health conditions in the physical body.
The hindrances are figuratively ingested when meat is actually ingested. This is due to the Energy Consciousness previously producing sentience within the form of animal or creature that a being subdues, kills, butchers, or more simply purchases from the convenience market. The Energy Consciousness is the sum of the fundamental forces blended and expressed as being, or POV within the Matrix. The sentient emanation of Source producing a multitude of sentient beings, Energy Conscious taking the form of avatar within the myriad Creation. This Energy while any creature has life, imbues itself to the physical manifestation of that life. There are levels of awareness to which beings of sentience exist with in this Matrix. The lowest level are the stones, then there are the plants and the trees, moving upward in density of consciousness through the animal kingdom and then arriving at the human density of consciousness, a brighter, illumination of awareness energy spread across the divided densities within this pillar of the Matrix construct. The lowest levels of sentient awareness existing in their physical forms, if ingested into our avatar form has a far less effect on our energetic totality. The consumption of nuts, fruits, green vegetables, minerals and vitamins have the most equitable integration and least deleterious affect our energy totality. On the other hand, animals such as beef cattle, chicken, and swine have in their avatar sentient state before harvesting and butchering the highest intensity of awareness density as far as commonly consumed meat sources. chimps, gorillas, dolphins, and elephants would have an even higher Energy Consciousness imprint upon their physical remains if they were digested as a food source.
It is the sentient emanation energy that enlivens the avatar form that can negatively effect a being who consumes the physical remains, or meat food stuffs which carry the imbued imprinting of the sentient energy on the consumed physical remains. This processing of meat and meat products into the avatar being brings new meaning to the phrase “you are what you eat” as the signature of sentience on the physical matter consumed brings discordant and disharmonious affect on a person’s energy body. This is further exacerbated by the modern factory farming techniques which creatures such as cattle, swine, and fowl are subjected to in the commercialized, overcrowded and hormone laced farm production methods utilized today.
It is truly a brutal system of factory farming that mega corporations and mega farms have implemented across the nation and around the world. The very treatment alone taints a consumer of the meat flesh, but underlying even this is the sentient residue, the after effect of energy consciousness left upon the meat flesh. Once ingested, this must be dealt with during the digestive process and the time for which the meat is passing through one’s being, one’s energy body totality avatar form. It is all a recipe for disharmony and discordant energies reverberating out of alignment, ultimately lowering one’s primary frequency. This is not the direction the clairvoyant or the practitioner would want this to go. In fact the opposite. It is through meditation and beneficial lifestyle practices that we remedy such disharmony in our energy body. First and foremost one should seriously consider removing meat, and meat products from their home and most especially from their diet.

Missing people across The United States and the world are an unfortunate but regular occurrence. In fact, as many as 90,000 people declared legally missing in America at any given time. “411” actually has its origins in an inconspicuous computer term that refers to data that cannot be found or a corrupted link.
Individuals who have vanished are often counted among those strange disappearances occurring on clearly marked and popular hiking trails. These disappearances also include people who were proficient outdoorsmen, hikers, and hunters who know their backwoods well.
The body of the 'Missing 411' work stems from the CANAM Missing Project, began by retired L.A. Detective David Paulides. His work focuses on methodical compilation of data, from which he identifies trends. His efforts include personal interviews with family members, travel to locations where individuals had vanished as well as an analysis of case files acquired through the Freedom of Information Act.
There seems to be concentrations of disappearances in certain areas, the most startling trend discovered from the projects work to synthesize records. It is the mystery of 411 disappearance hotspots. Of these cluster spots across the globe, however, one of the most prevalent and recurring seems to be the Yosemite National Park in California. Interestingly, UFO sightings often correlate to the hotspots, sometimes even around the same time that someone has gone missing. Theories abound as to what is responsible for such vanishings, from UFOs to cryptid type creatures, and even shadowy government programs.
Interestingly, a number of instances members of the National Park Service have denied reasonable requests for these case files. Paulides noted that many of these instances occur near bodies of water around granite boulders, as well as spots where blackberries may be gathered. Often, at the exact time of some disappearances there are strangely small distances of separation between the victims and other people they were with, be it family, friends, or other vacationing travelers.
Something sinister is happening, and there is a serious need to take a closer look at patterns in the details that surround the people going missing in national parks and other wilderness areas. According to Paulides, looking at such information over longer periods is essential as the isolated investigations and research into individual cases leads to the tendancy of overlooking shared patterns in the stories.
Paulides has created a cartography of 52 defined geographic clusters. The case trends and shared patterns include odd occurrences such as incliment weather arriving within minutes of a search being implemented by authorities, often halting or delaying a rigorous search immediately following the reported vanishing.
Tracking dogs either unable to either pick up a scent leading away from the point of disappearance or a reluctance on the part of the search dogs to follow. Bodies of the missing reappearing on the trails or on highly trafficked paths which large numbers of search and rescue groups had repeatedly passed during the time they had conducted searches. Bodies found with their shoes missing, nowhere to be found. Clothing found on the bodies that were inside out.
“Topography does play a part into the age of the victims and certain clusters have specific age and sex consistency that is baffling. This is not a phenomenon that has been occurring in just the last few decades, clusters of missing people have been identified as far back as the 1800's"
Before a missing person case is considered for investigation by Paulides and his Missing 411 team, it must fit certain profile points:
-Mental illness or suicidal thoughts must be ruled out.
-No signs of voluntary disappearance.
-No signs of animal predation.
-No indication of foul play.
-Unknown cause of death.
-Severe weather is often involved, usually striking unexpectedly.
-Canines either cannot find a scent to track the person or refuse to track altogether.
-The victim, if found, is in an area previously searched.
-Clothing or shoes are missing from the victim.
-Lakes, creeks, rivers, ponds, or streams.
-The victim has a disability or illness of some sort.
-The victim disappeared in one of the identified geographical clusters.
Native American tribes people whom Mr. Paulides has discussed the trends surrounding the numbers of missing people garnered a very cryptic response, having been told that "these disappearances feel like a harvest."
Within the trends of the missing people Paulides has identified sub groups such as children with very rare maladies and diseases, people that have some sort of either development disability, or they have some sort of illness or injury that may not even be obvious. He has identified as well as highly trained physicists as a sub grouping, and there is a trend within the number of missing that involves individuals of German heritage.
Whatever is the cause behind these clusters of missing people, the numbers are not decreasing, but are in fact increasing. Perhaps only time will reveal what is behind the vanishings, until then Mr. Paulides will continue his work on the Missing 411 project. As well as the number of armchair detectives now engaging in research of their own. It would behoove anyone venturing out into the national parks or other wilderness areas to be aware of these disappearances and take any precaution available to them to prevent themselves from being added to the growing number of missing.
There are definitely a few ancient kingdoms of the world that stand out among the rest. Brought to prominence often for the historical and academic interest they receive which for mostly incidental reasons spread to become part of much broader audiences. The Aztec kingdom, the Mayan, and empire of the Inca would be examples of this. Very large academic interest then becomes the subject of books and eventually in that of television and film. These are ancient peoples that didn’t contribute an invention of any particular technology, nor the introduction of any tradition that has reached down through time to impact the world at large. They are without a doubt very interesting societies so perhaps it comes down to a matter of fascination first by scholars and then through various media conveyed into a much broader, even global recognition. History is studied by the experts of academia and their endeavors are publicized and the proliferation of what they highlight frequently find their way into the mainstream. First in books, then television and film giving some historical peoples and places recognition surpassing that of their historical contemporaries. It seems imperative that the ancient civilizations who are responsible for making significantly interesting impacts on the world are due some attention.
Here are three of those contemporaries, ancient societies responsible for the origin of three far-reaching innovations that would in time change the world in appreciable ways. Our examples include the Tang Dynasty, the Achaemenid Persian Empire, and the Toltec civilization. From the Imperial Tang Dynasty which preceded the modern day China gave gunpowder to the world revolutionizing warfare, the Achaemenid Kingdom of Persia which preceded the modern day Iran gave to the world Algebra that is still today a core part of modern mathematics. Then there is the ancient Toltec Kingdom, a society that fostered among their traditions of shamanism an offshoot of occult knowledge and practices that would be delivered across millennia. Handed down through lineages of sorcerers and eventually spread to every corner of the world. Although the inventions of both gunpowder and algebra, their use and influence on history are more widely known, the occult system that emerged out of the Toltec society is poised and ready to bring about its own extraordinary changes.
Geographically situated in what is modern day Mexico, the Toltec society had at one time political and socioeconomic influence that stretched as far away as the Yucatan peninsula. The Toltec kingdom existed a very long time ago, so long ago in fact the recorded stories and accounts found within the excavations of the ancient Aztec kingdom was the principle source where much of the Toltec historical record was derived. Altepetl Tollan is the technical name for the Toltec empire, its civilization’s ruins include the ancient capital city of Tollan-Xicocotitlan, the cities making up the core of the empire such as Tulancingo, Huapalcalco, and the more distant cities like Chupícuaro, Chichen Itza, and Coba.
To the subject of this piece which focuses on the occult community at large and the world changing inheritance that has come from our esoteric benefactor, our occult ancestors of the Toltec society. A number of books have been written on various ancient beliefs from both the ancient East and the Western world. It is a very substantial market and one that has only benefited from the advent of the internet.
For decades the global market has seen a steady increase in titles aimed at the ever growing spiritualist and occult audiences. Although the numbers have risen dramatically in recent years it is the early days stretching from the mid 1960s into the 1970s that stand out because this is where we find the emergence of a world changing contribution far more significant than the gun powder and the algebra. This is the decade an author by the name of Carlos Castaneda published a series of books that purportedly revealed teachings whose origin was the Toltec empire.
New age and occult interest largely eclipsed his books when the audience of occultists who for a time were enamored with Castaneda’s books collectively moved on. This is an audience who had heavily romanticized sorcery, particularly his work. Its occult myths and legends circulating decades later over the internet allowed for a renewed interest in writings steeped in esoteric mystery. This renewed consideration that the popularity of his writings in the years past paved the way for. Many of our members across the occult community, individuals who also make up a significant portion of the audience that grew and sustained growth of new age spiritualism of recent years make up this refocus on the teachings. Over several decades of new age adaptation and convergence of spiritualism and occult practices, fresh curiosities have gravitated to the shamanic mysteries where even these groups although familiar with Castaneda’s books had over the years failed to realize not only the authenticity of those teachings but the answers they offer for a troubled world. It is synchronicity from a great turning of the wheel that is bringing occultists who for years had moved on to other occult ideas and practices back around to the Toltec sorcery.
The shamanistic beliefs, customs and traditions of ancient peoples around the world including those of the Toltec society are fascinating indeed, those are inconsequential. It is the offshoot of their sorcerer priests and their teachings that have remained largely obscure even after the publishing and wide circulation of Castaneda’s books. Fast forward to today and there is a kind of dawning upon the occult community that there is something of tremendous value to the occult world, and it is something that we have been in possession of for many years. An emerging magical system that will be recognized by modern practitioners. Teachings reintroduced in a pragmatic way that can be beneficial for so many people.
Currently within the community there are many revisiting with fresh eyes and key insights the Toltec wisdom and occult knowledge Carlos had collected and published. The goal is to craft a straightforward curriculum, both a technical and practical approach to this knowledge. A complete and functional system that we have inherited from the exceptional workings that began with Toltec sorcerer priests. Such potent seers using ever evolving methods and practices of sorcery garnered correspondence with Intent to levels only attainable by their most prodigious and accomplished men and women of knowledge. A system for individuals and groups to retrieve, manage, and manipulate the energies of our ethereal world, everything around us. For the Toltec seers it is those energies they discovered which offered them access to a key element used to connect with the One Source, with Spirit, that which they referred to as Intent.
Ongoing work to demystify the teachings revealed by Carlos continues and is accelerating. The books contain sections in which the sorcerer and teacher, who Castaneda had spent many years in close association as an apprentice, had mixed in exaggerated and fanciful tales, these too Carlos wrote down and included in his books. Firstly, those quite bizarre and nonsensical pieces had been purposefully told to Carlos by his teacher. In truth, his teacher, or ‘benefactor’ had known all along that his lineage of sorcerers, traceable all the way back to the ancient Toltec seers was coming to its end.
He was aware that this author, this professor and semi reluctant student apprentice was far too egotistical and self important to inherit the profound knowledge that had for so long been passed down through the lineages of sorcerers. However, it was by this very sorcery and his own mastery within its system that the teacher, and benefactor of Castaneda had been shown the way in which Spirit desired for him to pass along the potent, dangerous, and life changing esoteric system of knowledge. A system that is total and complete. A practical body of knowledge with techniques and clearly defined goals covering the restoration of one’s own energies through a regime of self discipline applied with focused, and dedicated actions. These include the subjugation of one’s own monstrous self importance. The practice of collecting high quality ephemeral energies into our own energy body. Knowledge based teaching on the innate obstacles to success and how to overcome them. The most authentic and practical methodology in the use of lucid dreaming. The tragic circumstances of our fellow man who have neither the interest nor inclination to take upon them the rigorous and arduous steps required for transforming themselves.
It is a system that is completely and devastatingly effective for those who are willing to put in the work to reap its rewards. The system itself offers two potential outcomes, the first one is extraordinary, and the second being so profound it exists for all intent and purposes outside the bounds of words and discussion. Even for those who will have succeeded in attainment of the first possible outcome. The first being the ability to overcome the first of three principle adversaries of anyone who embarks down the path of sorcery knowledge. The ancient seers throughout the lineages of sorcerers referred to them as the principal enemies of Man. These are Fear, then Clarity, and the third is Power.
The sorcerers who by this system which emerged as offshoots of the original and authentic Toltec teachings are transformed by their own effort, from an average man, to apprentice, to sorcerer, it is these individuals who are rewarded victory of the first three enemies of Man. There is a fourth enemy of Man that is possible to overcome, yet very few will achieve this ultimate victory. For the average man, even hearing of a possible victory over the fourth enemy of Man is an absurd and preposterous thing. For the sorcerers who achieve victory over the first three, they perceive the fourth as an authentic possibility, yet unfortunately for them something forever to remain just beyond their grasp. For them this is not really an issue, only a pity.
This fourth and final enemy of Man is none other than old age, that of the natural death that comes for us all. It is the ultimate audacity according to the ancient Toltec sorcerers to have victory over the fourth enemy of Man. It is in their words a chance to have a chance. Burning from the fire from within those who were Men and Women of Knowledge, and assembled into specifically arranged groups of sorcerers before the years had its chance to defeat the body with old age, successfully managed to dart past the inevitable ending awaiting most everyone of us incarnate in this world. Escaping to what can only be referred to as the ultimate freedom for one’s own awareness. Freedom out into this unfathomable world to existences which remain even for the most knowledgeable, unspeakable in its awesomeness.

Here is an in depth version of the traditional Celtic Cross tarot spread. I warn you that this may be almost entirely incomprehensible to people who are unfamiliar with the Hermetic Qabalah. Adepts will get the most usage out of this, especially since those who are not yet Adept, even in possession of knowledge, are unable to effectively create dramatic change. I have included graphs that will help to provide a visual representation of some concepts but the reader is expected to have at least intermediate knowledge of the tree of life and the occult elements as well as other esoteric and alchemical ideas. This version of the spread works best with DuQuette’s Tarot of Ceremonial Magick (the book and the deck), since these items include a vast array of traditional correspondences.
When I read tarot I do it in a way that is explicitly focused on alchemy and alchemical processes. That means that if I do a negative tarot reading, there are often actions available to massively change the projected outcome. When using tarot for self knowledge or spiritual development, the cards can be used to give several actions which actually guide the person as to the next steps to take in order to work on their shadow, rather than simply presenting the shadow to them and then awkwardly halting communication.
There are technically twelve cards in my version of the spread and many more are implicated through connection in terms of astrological and temporal cycles. The first card, starting at base zero is the significator and represents the thing which we want to know information about, and/or from.
Exoterically, this is going to be the querent, but esoterically this may be an entity such as a goetic spirit, a planet or planetary intelligence, a group of some kind, or anything else that you would not “usually” think to be a significator such as a plant or gemstone. Basically, you can ask about anything if you know how. Esoterically, choose the significator based on something that has the qualities of both the consciousness of interest as well as the issue at hand.
The querent may be the significator but the significator might not be the querent. The significator is always a card which expresses an energy but the querent is the person asking the question.
Here are images showing the spread and explaining its positions:
[If you look carefully, you will see the significator underneath the knight of cups in the middle of the equidistant cross, which forms the first 6 positions.
The overall energy here is the Ace of Wands and is from the bottom of the deck.
I shall explain the order in detail after telling you how I shuffle the cards. I must admit I use DuQuette’s method of shuffling recommended in the book that comes with the deck. It goes like this:
Invocation of IAO (Tiphareth): “I invoke thee, IAO, that thou wilt send the great Angel, HRU (hay-roo) who is set over the Operations of this Secret Wisdom, to lay their hands invisibly upon these consecrated Cards of Art, that thereby we may obtain True Knowledge of hidden things, to the glory of the Ineffable Name. Amen.”
Shuffle calmly for about 2 minutes until the desire is felt to stop. Then cut the deck. If a card “jumps” out, put it back in the deck and make sure you are shuffling calmly. Do not read if you are emotional because you will influence the cards.
DuQuette says to then fan the cards over a table, but I found this really difficult and annoying. Instead, I get told which half of the deck the significator is in by asking (my Higher Self) and I look for it in that half to be able to find it more quickly, simply searching through whilst holding the cards. This is a simple exercise that makes use of psychic abilities.
Once the significator is found, it and the cards to the right are put on top so that the significator is the first card you pull if the deck was face down.
You then place the significator on the table as card 0.
Then pull the other cards in their order.
1) This is the energy covering whatever the significator represents and goes on top of it.
2) This is the energy crossing the significator, for good or for ill. It may be in harmony or contradiction to the first card. It is placed at an angle of either 45 or 90 degrees on top of card 1.
3) This represents what is consciously known/in awareness to the significator and what is currently being focussed on. It is placed above.
4) This is the subconscious mind, the messages to meditate upon (or find in meditation) or what is hidden. It is often a clue as to what is being manifest into the environment (card 8) and goes below the other cards.
5) The past. Specifically, indicating influences that are leaving or have recently gone. It is placed to the left of cards 1 and 2.
6) The immediate future. This goes to the right of the of the first 2 cards.
7) The significator. This is the first card in the column of 4 which goes to the right of the cross. It is parallel to card 4.
8) The environment. Above card 7, parallel to cards 1, 2, 5 and 6. These cards together show a linear progression in time, along with card 10. Card 10 is different however because it may be changed in the most dramatic way through the deliberate alteration of current energies. I will explain soon.
9) The hopes and fears of the significator. These may shed light on card 6, like a clarifier.
10) This is the result of all the current energies influencing the situation and is subject to change if the querent (not always the significator) takes steps to enact transmutation.
If the significator is the querent, they have control over cards 3, 4 and 7. In such an instance, that is their conscious, subconscious and as a result the sum total of their energy (what we ordinarily consider to be them), respectively. Usually, they have control over card 10 as well but this is not guaranteed if there are several Major Arcana cards in the reading. It is hopefully intuitively obvious without me going into intricate detail how one can tell whether this is true in the circumstance. We may use casuistry in it’s amoral and non-pejorative sense in order to assess this (Therefore, keeping a tarot journal will be particularly useful for interpreting through this method). This does not mean that free will is not existent in these cases, but it does mean that sometimes things cannot be stopped, even by occult means. If this is the case, I suggest that you get on your knees and pray for guidance, then accept the reality of the situation.
If the significator is not representative of the querent because it is representing something else, the alternative meanings of the positions may be employed as deemed intuitively appropriate.
I said I would explain time in this spread, so here we go. Cards 5, 6 and 8 show a linear progression. Card 7 spans from the immediate future to an uncertain point not so far as card 10, the ultimate outcome. Card 8 does the same. Card 11 spans the entire situation including the past and the future, with equal and immutable power. This fact is deduced by the qabalistic numbering which is described below. Cards 1 and 2 represent super/natural forces that exert an influence over everything else except card 11 (which they are derived from) and card 5 (the past). This is because cards 1 and/or 2 may be the result of this fading/faded influence.
Cards 1 and 2 also have diminishing influence as time passes into the future, meaning that the vast majority of their influence is at the present time. Their influence never goes to 0 insofar as the natural part of the reading is concerned, as with an asymptotic graph. Therefore, the timespan of the reading tells us how much influence these cards have over the other aspects of the situation – the cards in different positions. The curvature of this diminishing influence is determined by whether cards 1 and 2 are Major or Minor Arcana or Court Cards and the progression along the x axis is determined by the timespan presented
If they are Major Arcana, the planetary energies involved will dictate the speed of diminution, with Saturn and Jupiter being slow and the Moon being relatively fast, as examples. In some instances, this includes zodiacal Majors, which by their nature must have planetary linkages.
When these positions are filled by elemental Majors, Fire (Aeon) and Air (The Fool) are quite fast, Water (The Hanged Man) is receptive to the time period indicated by context (through the stipulations of the question, or zodiacal/planetary energy time-frames) and Earth (Universe) is slow. Spirit (Aeon) is non-temporal.
There are things to consider regarding the curvature of the graph and Major Arcana in these first two positions. Spirit is an exception to the asymptote rule and remains evenly dispersed throughout time by its very nature. By default, the rate of diminution in elemental Fire is also much faster, becoming negligible within a short time. Earth depletes much more slowly and has a “heavy” influence whilst Air’s influence fluctuates depending on elemental dignity in relation to each individual card in the temporal positions. The pattern of any element may be partially indicated by the time-frame given in the immediate future or the speed/time-frames of the planetary and zodiacal energies at cards 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8, along the temporal line. (Therefore, keep in mind that overall energies may in rare instances be already somehow (to varying degrees) weakened at the present moment due to their peaking in the past)
If they are Minor Arcana, their influence falls flat pretty quickly but still following in miniature form the rules of the Majors, unless they are strengthened by the querent, in which case their influence will change with the querent’s Will. The effect can potentially be amplified to the point of a Major Arcanum’s influence should the occultist have enough skill. This can be done, for example, by embodying the zodiacal energies. If the 3 of Disks shows up within the first two positions, the 2 of Disks (Harmonious Change) and 4 of Disks (Earthly Power) energy might be made manifest by the occultist to complete the energies of Capricorn in the microcosm, “unlocking” The Devil (macrocosmic Capricorn) and the cards under its own rulership according to DuQuette’s Qabalistic mandala (in his Tarot of Ceremonial Magick book). Should they be negative cards, knowledge of the diads and triads on the Qabalistic tree of life will allow favourable energies to be unlocked through transmutation. Alternatively, the energies may be deliberately banished in order to make way for more appropriate ones. In this alchemical process, all energies within the deck can be accessed deliberately, in a systematic manner.
If they are court cards, there are double elemental correspondences to consider. In DuQuette’s Tarot of Ceremonial Magick, the Princesses are Earth, the Knights are Fire, the Princes are Air and the Queens are Water. This makes, for example, the Prince of Disks and the Knight of Cups a scattered energy so having a corresponding effect, as is also indicated by elemental dignities. Meanwhile, the Queen of Cups is extremely reflective, being Water of Water elementally. According to DuQuette’s qabalistic mandala, the Princesses and Aces rule over quadrants of the zodiac (the seasons), therefore the cyclical peaks and troughs, giving indications as to where we should ground our energies as well as other valuable information.
If they are Major Arcana, the first two cards have a much larger impact on the reading, for better or worse. Should they be positive, any negative outcome is certainly avoidable by focussing on these energies except perhaps in the event of a disruptive Major Arcanum at position 10.
Now, as for correspondences to the Qabalistic tree of life, the order is not of the lightning flash, but as follows: 1 and 2 are Binah and Chokmah. 3 and 4 are Gevurah and Chesed. 5 and 6 are Hod and Netzach. 7 is Tiphareth. 9 is Yesod, 10 is Malkuth, 11 is the non-sephira of Da’ath which “overshadows” even Kether and 8 is also attributed to Malkuth.
Alternatively, 1 and 11 are Kether, 9 is perhaps Qlipothic, 8 is of Yesod, following ad absurdum the Hermetic law of Mentalism.
Qlipothic energies are also indicated if anything relating to the reading – the cards or the issue queried – corresponds to Malkuth specifically, not elemental Earth, and the cards present persistent and extremely polarized energies.
Which attributions are used depends first upon on the querent’s level of development and then on context, making the first set overwhelmingly likely to be used.
Let us now move onto implied cards. When a card is implied in this sense, it is within the projected outcome from the cards, before alchemy is attempted. Remember that everything is in a constant state of fluctuation. Some things change relatively slowly but only in comparison to faster things. If we see for example a 5 of wands – Strife – which is a disruptive card, we know that following it by default – via the path of the lightning flash – is the 6 of wands; Victory. After this must come the 7 of wands – Valour. Then the 8 of wands, and so on. Thus, if we have, for example, an Ace of wands somewhere at the beginning of the reading in terms of time (as has been explained above) we know that this Ace is actually going to manifest pretty soon into the 2 of wands – Dominion. It is very likely that we have another wands card which allows us to mentally fill in the gap and thus observe with ease how quickly the current cycle is progressing, but if not we may still be able to deduce this using the linkages found in DuQuette’s Qabalistic mandala, meaning that the Major Arcana and the Court Cards that appear in the reading will provide us with this information implicitly. If this is still not the case, which I doubt will ever really happen, we can still work out how fast the cycle of, in this case Fire, is going, by looking at the other elements in the reading. However, it should always be the case that somewhere either explicitly or implicitly we are able to work out the speed of these cyclic progressions.
When looking for alchemical change, we may wish to avoid the path of the lightning flash and go directly across – to the other pillar on the tree – or vertically – remaining on the same pillar – whilst being aware that we still need to make up for any missed energies when doing this. It is not a substitute for the lightning flash (down) or path of the serpent (up) but a very strong catalyst. We need not always navigate the tree though, and even when doing so we may switch elements in various ways.
In transmutation we can work with sephirotic, zodiacal, elemental and/or planetary energies. Any other categories such as the use of goetic spirits happen to fit into one of these four categories. This includes the use of tarot as we are using it here.
]]>Power rests in the kind of knowledge one has, what is the sense of knowing things that are useless.
We are not concerned with a dubious definition of self-importance that average people keep in their dictionaries as those belong to average men and women of their average world, for us this is useless and will not suffice. The self-importance we are concerned with requires the devastation wrought by the acceptance and the cure of the ancient sorcerers definition. Because power rests in the kind of knowledge one has the sorcerer’s definition contains a transcendent knowledge possessing such quality it includes both explanation of and the prescription for dealing with the self-importance within one’s own being, and only it will suffice.
Ancient seers through their manipulation of awareness had arrived at energetic facts pertaining to self-importance. Understanding obtained via a direct knowing they would eventually be capable of explaining to themselves making knowledge they could pass down through their lineages.
The first of their revealed knowledge asserts that self-importance must be understood to be a force, a force generated by one’s own self-image, and it is directly involved with every aspect of our temporary identity.
Another secret revealed to them was that self-pity is the real enemy and the source of man's misery. The power of the ancient sorcerers had unmasked self-importance and the old sorcerers saw that it is self-pity masquerading as something else.
The establishment of our self-image begins at birth and enlarges as our selfness solidifies identification in relentless rigidity the idea of our self creating a self-image.
The self-image generates a force exerted on the awareness across the mirror of self-reflection. Our awareness relinquishes energy through the attention back across the mirror of self-reflection due to the force generated by our self-image.
We are awareness relinquishing energy from taking so seriously the idea we have identified with, our self-image generates the force we call self-importance which is exerted on our awareness siphoning energy through our attention across the mirror of self-reflection, this process they termed the “here and here”
When the principle of “here and here” and all it entails, including the machine mind where the tyranny of words and inventories resides, the emergence of our idea of self and selfness solidifies our rigid identity a term to encapsulate the whole process they eventually began calling the Foreign Installation.
Where attention goes energy flows, this is another energetic fact. The ancient sorcerers revealed knowledge that asserts that we should use the knowledge of death as an advisor.
Utilizing one’s death as a personal advisor is one of these is very effective as average men and women although cognizant in an intellectual capacity of death and dying it is not implemented in the way the seers explained, for them it was a invaluable tool, utilized without morbidity by essentially leveraging the inevitable appointment death.
The force that is self-importance acts upon us fiercely and is a most treacherous obstacle to overcome, the depths of its entrenchment into our being is due to conditioning and ritual, because anything you do everyday is a ritual becomes a thing that the sorcerers explained had such deceptive abilities, it truly stupefies intelligence in its efforts to prevent activation of cognition or any disciplined control of one’s attention away from its prominence and dominion. Without the heavy focus on our self-image we lose our self-compassion, and with it our self-importance.
Curtailing vital energy you are relinquishing to self-importance, vital energy for years you had been wasting is accumulated instead. This accumulation of unseen energy builds to an amount where knowing begins to occur in an innate and expanded capacity, knowing that comes irrespective of your mind’s conceptual ideas, philosophies, imaginings, or beliefs. A direct knowing for the awareness whose presence and appearance to the practitioner achieved regardless of fanciful theories or complex descriptions that had always been so treasured and important to us.
You must make a great effort to restrict our involvement with our self-image in order for self-importance to be overthrown, this can only be done via deliberate action. Advice for any apprentice included things such as telling them that they must let their “No” mean no and employ it without reservation when it is required, and similarly let their “Yes” mean yes and employ it knowing full well that spoken agreements will be fulfilled in full even to die in the effort. Vowing their life to stand by their decisions.
The machine mind and its inventories grew along with the relentless identification with the self, unwittingly, simultaneously energy of awareness is relinquished across the mirror of self-reflection through the attention excessively fixated on our self-image that generates a force we call self-importance which is really self-pity in disguise. Energy retained does not cross the mirror of self-reflection, which is a change form the normal relinquishing of energy through attention, self-importance the force that had normally relentlessly been exerting back upon your being, back upon the burning flame that is the ever living soul light energy body within the avatar, but you managed to curtail again and again the relinquishing of your vital energy.
Our relinquish of energy through our attention is due to the force generated by our self-image, a force exerted on our awareness as self-importance and self-pity as secretly those two are one, siphons energy back across the mirror of self-reflection.
Energy accumulated from the curtailment of self-importance, this increased energy simply by accumulating to a sufficient amount clears the connecting link to Spirit, the Intent, the Abstract occurring simultaneously attention moves away from the mirror of self-reflection.
When we are left with the idea of death to deny our awareness the knowing of no self. Know that this the Foreign Installation conditioning of the average man or woman’s relationship to death, not the effective technique of ‘Death as an Advisor’
Deny energy to the force that is our self-importance and awareness knowing death defy the relinquish of energy through attention. The idea of death is the machine mind’s mental comprehension of the inevitable end, which is altogether different than awareness having the knowing of no self.
The force exerted on the awareness’s attention compels energy to move, to flow forth across the mirror, however, if we hunt our self-importance, which is also self-pity we can seize the opportunity and upon the instance of its appearance like a hunter stalking its nemesis, deny the ‘here and here’ process. The reward from curtailing the relinquish of energy to self-importance despite its pressure, each time it makes appearance in your daily experiences, if you can do this over and over, is tremendous, the reward is transformation due to the accumulation of the energy that normally would have flowed out across the mirror of self-reflection.
Actively aware with vibrant alertness hunting any appearance of self-importance, again, and again, and again. Remember self-importance is to understood as a force generated by man's self-image. You must keep hunting for every appearance of self-pity and self-importance is carried out, in active awareness where you remain unceasingly vigilant. Time passes and your days are vigilant and beneficial, throughout those dogged days of determination none of the energy that the average man or woman, that you had previously been conditioned to be, would begin changing due to the energy saving.
Apprentices were warned that self-importance has its own guile even as a force, it will retreat in order to convince each person that it is gone, that they have reached their goal, purposely doing this only to return with a quickness that catches you off-guard.
Apprentices were taught that the average man and woman’s compassion is a sympathetic pity and concern for misfortunes of others as victims, and the sorcerers explained that this was simply the self-importance yet again in people, whereas sorcerers having wisdom and knowledge involved with their task of seeking high quality energy exchange with their surroundings and the self-importance siphoning of energy is not something they allow, so nothing they do, even if it appears compassionate is not as self-importance is never involved in their actions. Sorcerers having defeated self-pitying self-importance have no compassion not even for themselves, and therefore they are not a victim anymore and never can be ever again.
Energy saving in a sustained transformative state of ruthless sobriety, the sole purpose for your energy saving. The energy accumulates, and accumulates, and accumulates until a tipping point. The saved energy reaches a measurement sufficient enough to finally tip the scale.
With this threshold surpassed your mirror of self-reflection shatters, and it is the shattering of the mirror of self-reflection that marks the human form becoming lost, and the losing of your human form is a momentously splendid beginning. It is the true start of a sorcerers apprenticeship. The reason it is the true start of a sorcerers apprenticeship is this, your debilitating draining of vital energy must be dealt with before any of the related practices involved in the path of knowledge can produce results, therefore it is required to before you may even begin a true apprenticeship of sorcery.
In vibrant alertness you patiently wait for signs of self-importance to appear. In a true apprenticeship of sorcery knowledge each person must transform themselves daily, restraining themselves with the most excruciating effort.
Even the compulsion to be nice, the incessant drive to not offend other people is entirely due to self-importance. Why waste your energy on such useless things such as what will other people think of me?
The sophistication of self-importance is always underestimated, it will seemingly recede away when the one begins this most important transformation, only to lurk in waiting for attention to excessively fixate on the idea of self, our self image, then the siphoning of our vital energy resumes to destroy us.
Many people have to be enticed into it or even tricked because of the amount of work involved is daunting, and the task of subduing self-importance must be achieved before any of the other work along the warrior’s path can be progressed upon at all.
These techniques and practices are not considered sorcery, as the definition of sorcery inevitably changes as ones knowledge increases. It is a complete system developed for the total struggle against that individual self that has deprived man of his power.
With very few individuals ever circumventing the dominion of this force that is understood as self-importance in our lives, is testament to the difficulty in implementing the curtailing of the siphoning off of our vital energy.
The ancient sorcerers knew that once the force of self-importance is engaged, it develops its own momentum, which has a fortunate flip side, once enough energy is retained to flip the scale, the connecting link to Spirit is cleansed, and in this same dramatic dynamic point of transformation the mirror of self-reflection is shattered meaning you have managed to change, and with ruthless sobriety have flipped the scale in your favor of managing the relinquishing of your vital energy.
We must relentlessly push ourselves to succeed in this quintessential extraction of this most daunting and debilitating aspect of our incarnate identity. Dealing with self-importance is without question the single greatest stumbling block for those who are to access knowledge of the ancient seers, it can be considered the single factor that either makes or breaks an initiate to the greater teachings.
The teachings include a sequence, this begins with being aware that self-importance is the force which keeps us pinned to our self-reflection. Regular engagement of our attention in a state of inner silence, done over and over begins an accumulation of energy that would ordinarily be depleted, this begins to curtail the energy syphoned off by our self-importance. Once self-importance is curtailed, the energy it requires is no longer expended. The difficulty is that our mirror of self-reflection is extremely powerful and only lets us, its victims go after a ferocious struggle.
The sorcerers and seers shared teachings designed to rectify the untenable condition of self-importance, its domineering and problematic nature. Their creation of techniques and practices were guided by Spirit, crafted through great effort over lineages of their sorcery descendants tools for reducing and removing encumbrances of energy to propagate a current or flow that cleanses the connecting link with Spirit. Enhancing their energetic correspondence with Source to facilitate invaluable and hard won progress along the warrior's path of knowledge. There is a carefully crafted grouping of practices that require from each individual the most tremendous focus and dedication to perform.
It is the same for everyone who attempts this encounters a seemingly insurmountable quandary. Requiring the upmost sobriety to embrace the harsh truth of a person’s situation regarding their self importance looms before an initiate. Any initiate will without fail underestimate the diabolical nature of self importance, they inevitably realize this by verifying it by observation and rumination in their own real life situations. self importance as the greater portion of the Foreign Installation is responsible for the capacity in Man to take offense by the deeds and misdeeds of our fellow men. There are people who are after many, many years still holding on to something that someone did or failed to do to them or for them. What a waste of energy, yet for those people they exist for their entire lives oblivious to such understanding. This battle to dethrone self-importance is no less than the total struggle against that individual self that has deprived man of his power. Ruthlessness is a state of sobriety and is opposite from self-pity and self-importance. For those on the path of knowledge this state of awareness is the most basic premise to be adopted in the struggle against self-importance.
My temporary being perceiving the active infinity with my continually expanding totality of my avatar energy body. Thresholds surpassed and new thresholds arrived at in one direction, propelled by the self discipline of implementing the techniques required along the warriors path impeccably.
Erasing personal history and intuitive dispersion of routines, working in combination with the subjugation of self-importance to facilitate management, conservation, and retrieval of indispensable energy necessary to traverse these long cycle practices for
the manipulation of awareness. Without the dedicated daily implementation of practices in one’s life all of the intellectual concepts and complex inventories of syntax describing esoteric categories and their theoretical metaphysical underpinnings the individual awareness of your being will never have authentic knowing.
When one has succeeded in ridding themselves of the force that is self-importance, which is self-pity then they have eliminated the bride of self-importance as well, and the bride of self-importance is called ‘the victim’ then they reside in a position of awareness termed ‘the place of no pity’ which has tremendous advantages over that of the average man or woman’s. Beware, also alert to the fact that you are surrounded by a world full of victims. When you stop behaving like a victim in a world full of victims who expect you to behave like they do one must understand how their actions can turn into a viciousness if or when they ever take notice.
Accumulate Inner Silence to stabilize yourself for the appearance of self-importance, to cultivate inner silence is becomes integral to the life of a sorcerer and very important for any who are working to rid themselves of self-importance, the force that is generated by one’s self-image impacts a person intensely depending on their conditioning and their degrees of indulgence and Inner Silence accumulated works a buffer in order for the student to release expectations and deny the energy transfer.

The Fourfold Breath
The fourfold breath is a way of respiring which can be represented by a square which is just a 2 dimensional cube (which is just a 3 dimensional hypercube…) and as a result is sometimes known as the box (cube) breath. The cube is a symbol of Tiphareth.
To perform it, breathe in gently through the nose for the count of 4. (I say “count of 4” because this is subjective depending on a person’s breathing ability, however it’s probably ¾ of a second.) Then hold for 4. Then breathe out for 4. Then hold for 4. This sequence completes one cycle of fourfold breath.
If you’re wondering why you must breathe in through the nose, there are many reasons but most important of all is that you don’t want Dracula to call you a “mouth-breather.”
Some important notes: The out-breath hold is most important. The throat/neck should not be strained at all during this process. Avoid if you have asthma or other conditions that may cause injury. You must maintain correct tongue posture whilst doing this. That means your tongue is on the plate at the front of your mouth, resting on the roof. Those familiar with the microcosmic orbit of qi gong will know what I mean.
body being filled with lifeforce (qi), which enters again through the pores. It nourishes deep into the flesh and the bone. This can be as simple as knowing this idea and imagining the body filling up with white light, since lux = light = life-force. I adapted this idea from Regardie’s Middle Pillar, and found that a focus on the different parts of the body individually helps to induce an aware but trance-like state by relaxing the body. I therefore found it more useful than the version described in Lyam Thomas Christopher’s Kabbalah, magic and the Great Work of self-transformation which simply tells the Neophyte to imagine pores all over the skin opening to allow nourishment from the air.
The Qabalistic Cross
This translates roughly to “Thou art the Kingdom, the power and the glory. Forever and ever, so it is”
Now the qabalistic cross is over.
The Pentagrams
These are to be drawn swiftly in a relaxed "slicing" action. If possible, you see them in front of you and you feel their heat, imagine the blue light reflected around the space and know their power. Feel the heat. Hear the burning. They are perfectly proportioned to your sight when you trace them on your out-breaths. Even if you drew them imperfectly.
The pentagram goes clockwise in the banishing and counter-clockwise in the invoking version. In the former, tracing is commenced from in front of the left hip and in the latter from the head. This is because you are drawing towards and away from the Earth element respectively.
When I say "blue" I mean blue-white. The pentagrams actually ignite with flame once they are charged. Until that point it's like a blue lightsaber colour from Star Wars. Once it is flaming it is like
a Bunsen burner fire: animated and intense. This differentiation in colour or imagery shows the fact that you have given the pentagrams their power, like toggling an off and on mode. You can also create a differentiation in sound and brightness for further efficacy.
I have mentioned in passing that breath is synchronized with the ritual actions, and provided no indication on how to do so.
In-breath, hand is in sword mudra at heart centre, draw in energy
Holding the breath - it travels to the fingertips and the hand is brought to starting point of the pentagram
Out-breath - the pentagram is drawn within this time – this might take practice Second hold, the hand is brought back to the heart, again upright in sword mudra.
In-breath, same as before
Holding the breath, hand stays poised
Out-breath – Your hand surges suddenly forward and stabs the pentagram. Vibrate appropriate god name. In the East - YHVH (yud-heh-vah-hey) I pronounce H final as hey to differentiate it phonetically from H. I find this important because YHVH corresponds to the 4 elements and H final is Earth, which is feminine. the "eh" sound as in metal (meh-tul) is masculine compared to "hey" which sounds like "hay" that horses eat. We are saying that the consonant sounds are masculine and vowel sounds are feminine. So basically, putting this slight difference in does change the tone of the word slightly to more accurately impress the representations (and therefore the energies) of YHVH into the subconscious and therefore the aura. This also means that we are requesting invocation of the energies of the godnames within our aura when we do this ritual.
Hold Breath - feel the power of the godname and the charging of the pentagram as it bursts into flame as described earlier when considering a lightsaber compared to a bunsen burner flame.
Out-breath - draw a flaming white light to the place where the middle of the next pentagram shall be.
Hold Breath - Put the hand in back to your heart centre
The other godnames: in the South – ADNI (ah-doe-ni), in the West EHEIEH (eh-hay-ee-eh) Again, eh is like meh-tul in the word metal. Hay is what horses eat. In the North AGLA
Make sure to finish the circle.
The Archangelic Invocations
Now we invoke the Archangels. They are imagined in my case in Golden Dawn flashing colours. In our case, the Golden Dawn's style of Enochian magick is used once Adepthood is reached, if one uses it at all.
East - Air - Raphael - Sunrise - Yellow and violet (sun is yellow) - holding a caduceus wand in the right hand which represents healing and the wisdom of Hermes.
South - Fire - Michael - Midday/Noon - Red and Green (sun is red) - holding upright a flaming sword (which has a double blade like the one in the Justice tarot card) representing Truth and protection.
West - Water - Gabriel - Sunset - Blue and Orange (the sun is orange) - an infinitely overflowing cup of water in the left hand running into a stream
North - Earth - Uriel - Midnight - Black and Green. Uriel is holding a book that is dark green with a black pentacle on it, which contains an infinite grimoire of all things relating to the element of Earth. The stars are shimmering white and there is one North Star that stands out from the rest.
The black and green was actually odd to me (“Should it not be white?”) even until recently. Meditation upon the esoteric associations of the tarot will shed light upon this apparent paradox. The green is traditionally very dark, like an olive. Contrast that in your awareness to the bright green of Michael’s flashing colours. They are different energies so the shade must be separated in the mind.
For the beginner, putting other colours in the scene is likely bad advice.
Before me, RAPHAEL (rah-fah-el) Imagine the scenery as you call each Archangel. Behind me, GAVRIEL (gav-ree-el)
At my right hand, MICHAEL (mee-cha-el) (If you are able to enunciate an upper uvular fractive for the cha syllable without breaking your voice, go ahead) This is a gutteral sound like the ch in Lochness monster.
At my left hand, URIEL (yuh-ree-el)
For about me flame the pentagrams (sizzling sound) Your vision switches to a third person perspective and the Archangels go out of focus as you recall the charged blue pentagrams and the brilliantly flaming white circle, protecting you, the Magician. The blue light from the pentagrams is so bright that it reflects off of your black robes (white if Adept)
And within me shineth the six-rayed star.
See a hexagram within you with the uppermost point of fire in both attribute and colour, and a lowermost point of water. So the fiery point is burning and the watery point is wavering. The fiery point is at your throat. It is hot and dry. You will probably feel this in your throat even if your visualization is poor when imagining sensations. The watery point is at your crotch. You may feel mildly aroused, unless you’re a Scorpio. (This version of the hexagram is from Lyam Thomas Christopher’s book mentioned in the first part of this article.)
You can make the hexagram golden yellow to represent Tiphareth. I would not make it unicursal.
You may notice that I have not included the sign of the enterer and the sign of silence in this version of the rite. Whilst this is useful to experienced practitioners, it is not needed for the beginner in order to activate the effects and serve the purposes that have been discussed. Curiously, Christopher didn’t even suggest this to be added to the LBRP in his brief discussion on the work of the Adept in his book, despite suggesting other modifications to the rite.
Repeat Qabalistic Cross (except shrink your body at the end of it!)

The Explanation
Meditating upon a symbol which has had meaning impressed upon it for many centuries allows one to receive insights.
No explanation is concise or even sufficient, even if I thought that this information was worth giving out to anyone. (simply giving you the information would have no benefit unless you came back to it each time you developed your consciousness in order to glean insight. But this is inefficient.)
I am sorry to disappoint, but this work must be done by the student.
Should you start your journey faithfully following these instructions, you will be guided to where you need to be next.
We know that when the student is ready, the Master shall appear. But that is not the end of the saying for when the student is truly ready, the Master shall disappear.]]>The King of the Wands house is a celebrity jock type. If not rubbing elbows with the likes of Will Smith and Jackie Chan he is using the same personal trainers. Muscular, handsome and at home in the ring or on the court, his appeal is more than athletic. His laser focus determination has led to some of the most lucrative branding deals and endorsements that the world has ever seen. His fanbase is international, multigenerational worshiping one piece or another from his illustrious catalog of content. He is a professional sports master with Olympic level wins that have allied the world behind his brand much like Michael Jordan. Along with the acting chops that have led to roles in some of the highest grossing box office action movies. He is what you would call “legendary” aiming to be the best at what he is doing at any given moment.
Equal to his career of sweat he has made a name for himself as a savvy investor and entrepreneur. He holds patents for original inventions as well as an investor in startup incubators. He specializes in pivots of power. Classic car enthusiast, the King of Fire loves a good drag race on the streets of Tokyo as much as he loves his box seats in Barcelona. Still able to go toe to toe with the likes of Swarzenegger and Dwayne Johnson in the ring or on film, this king has always has presidential aspirations. For him “day off” is not in his vocabulary and does deals from the limo with his fingers in many pies, Trump style. Woe to the one who triggers his fury as he can speak incendiary curses like a fire breathing dragon, ending careers and chasing “losers” out of the profession. Mostly, the King of Wands has a tempered wrath and rarely sweats the small stuff. Saving his riches for the people, not only for his family. This is because they already have their own earnings far exceeding those of their peers. Instead he reinvests in the community he hails from with endowments to local junior varsity sports because he too came from humble beginnings. His own fitness franchises and real estate developments for public housing are his legacy. Joking at his mortality he testifies that “Father of the People” should be inscribed on his tombstone, but we know he’s not joking as much as approving a posthumous headline.
The Queen of Wands does not share the same story of her masculine counterpart. She was groomed for greatness as most Asians are. Often a woman of first, she’s been breaking records since before she was breaking in training bras. Born of high pedigree, jumping horses, traditional bow shooting, ballet, piano and poetry were her childhood classes before she became a teen modeling sensation. Her immigrant accent has only made her seem exotic as she is a master at the game of fame. Representing her culture in a way that has set the tone for the industry. “Move over Madonna”, she has made her home in the homes of millions, enthroned on magazine covers at the center of acclaim from salons, to music studios. Her breakout single sent her to the top of the charts preceding some of the most iconic hits of the decade. She is an ageless beauty and launched her cosmetics brand that prides itself on its activism against animal cruelty. While her personal makeup artist is on call 24 hours a day and her personal witch is on retainer.
The Queen of Fire is always ready. A photo opp with Oprah asking about her bestselling tell-all, quick kisses with Kardashians at the Fenty show and red carpet premieres with Angelina. Even if they forgot her invitation she’ll show up anyway, overdressed and voguing for the paparazzi. In addition, the agent, manager and publicist are a much needed entourage to keep her own massive persona on the golden path. Furthermore, she never knows when she’ll have an impromptu interview about her opinion on the latest hot topics with Wendy, or that ongoing feud with Beyonce. She has become a spokeswoman for battered women and children but is sometimes such a workaholic that she can find that she can lose touch with her own family. She can be consumed with her own social agenda that she can neglect the tender attention that is needed in her household and often relies on nannies, chefs, choferes and body guards to help her keep the domestic duties together. For the Queen of Wands, her personal attention to these matters is more of a “divine intervention”.
He’s got a gorgeous surfer body and a loud mouth so you can't help but notice the Knight of Wands. Born with a silver spoon he’s given up trying to live in his father’s shadow long ago and is learning to enjoy the ride. The biggest reason for this is he is a social media junky with a short attention span. Truth be told he has a talent for the tweet, the Knight of Wands is a social media powerhouse, with engagement ranging from the tens to hundreds of thousands which is pretty easy when you have a few million followers. But for what? This is a well known knight but not for the reasons you think, bursting with potential and conflicting ideas, the Knight of Wands lacks the attention span to fully commit to things beyond the selfie. When he really wants to be alone you can find him under the hood of one of his muscle cars, adding mods and customizations.
Already starred in a couple of movies as a child star, spurred on by his mother, he quickly caved to the stereotypes and pitfalls that are all too common for early ingenus. Once known for his innocent charms his bad boy image is mostly media manufactured, TMZ commenting on every tattoo and female that shows up in his feeds. Though he has that million dollar smile that makes the masses swoon and is sought after for appearances he is at times a loner. Using Beats By Dre headphones like a helmet to drown in sounds, getting lost on Santa Monica Blvd skating around with nothing in his pockets but a black card and blunts. Snoop gave him an autographed pair of shades for his 16th birthday so he can put a rose colored filter on errythang. Still, the pressure mounts. His world is made of the eyes of onlookers craving scandal. Only “The Crew”, the guys and gals closest to him know all his truth vs the person he is portrayed to be in the mainstream. The Knight of Fire is the rich rebel without a cause with everything to prove to the parents and press alike.
The youngest is the real upstart. The Princess of Wands is as sassy as sriracha and couldn't care less about the world at large. A self entitled tiny titan, she has a rock-rapper's lifestyle and is determined to show the seasoned vets how it's done. Before her parents made her delete her Soundcloud and iTunes accounts she had already released several self produced tracks like “Virgin Mary Was Lesbian”, “Celebrity Slave”, and “Poor Little Rich Bitch”. By then it was too late with downloads topping around 10,000 units a day before they even knew. This Princess has brought the punk edge of the future to celebrity, a word that she hates and calls it “too zoological” on her feminist podcast, Vegan Vagina, and equates it with a subhuman slur.
Already a wiz at martial arts and following in the pioneering footsteps of her father, this ridiculously rich princess is the spitting image daddy in brains and bravado giving her music a unique clout as a fringe artist. Similar to her mom, she has a custom education that is taught by private tutors and self styled skills and converted her bedroom to soundproof dj booth and recording studio. She mixes her own raw beats and livestreams just about every weekend. Just as her older brother is a bit aimless, she is obsessive about her niche. Fame comes naturally for her and she rejects the “game” of it all. The audience is her BFF. Her unique “devil may care” aesthetic is cutting edge as she is an effortless trendsetter but usually can’t see beyond her self designed world. The ironic poor little rich girl, is a material girl, and is virtually unable to recognize her own advantages. Finding what others would call “privileges” as oppressive torpes to be shut down.
The Family of Fire love their names in lights. Albeit a crew of cultural icons, there is a stewing tension on this team. Like a consuming inferno they sense the endless need to feed the audience and leave them wanting more and more and more. For as much as they are the fire, they are also the fodder and have endless productions, collaborations, and reinventions usually causing them to burn the candle at both ends. While they work hard to keep up appearances it's that streetball hustle is what affords them the luxuries of their blue blood counterparts take for granted. There are interviews and photoshoots, paparazzi and occasional parades that keep their calendar full, critics clamoring, and tabloids talking around the globe.
]]>To see the avatar form as one functioning being of energy, one of physical flesh, mind of the ‘me’ and the ‘I’ of the soul takes time and is a subtle development. Rearranging the geometry of the body is about creating a divine form. Completely new possibilities come into play when one makes a daily, continuous effort to produce their totality of being new forms, or forms.
There are concepts and techniques employed within the practice of the occult which compel the harmonization of energies within one's energy body. Healthy mind and healthy body are integral ingredients in the nature of such endeavors. It is not necessary to parse the categorization of these elements and by extension the concepts and techniques by which this process is fostered in oneself. As they are parts of a whole working that occurs over time and just as a sports team must field all of the necessary athletes during the game if there is any hope in achieving a desired outcome.
The process is aimed at developing the forms of mind, body, and spirit, evolving them over a period to become more efficient forms. Alighting the vortexes of energy chakra, raising the primary frequency of the energy body (which is in a manner the sum of the energies within the avatar form collectively measured against a previous or future level) management of emotion and focus such as is spoken at length in sacred texts like the Kybalion and the Emerald Tablets of Thoth. Attuning harmonization and dispensing with discord or anomalous fluctuations throughout the energy body. The correspondence with Spirit, Source, our higher density sentient formation, HGA, Daemon, etc is not only a lifeline in this struggle to overcome the discord and disharmony within our being but also the connection that benefits for our overall improved efficiency across the totality of the avatar energy form.
The forms that exist outside of our avatar being the planets, moon and stars do far more that hang in the heavens above us. The forces they exert upon all living things directly affect our being and when we have improved our totality through diligent effort and the exercise of esoteric knowledge of the magic science doors are opened for us to make use of these celestial bodies and their energies. What was once unavailable becomes available. What was once a potent alignment of forces exacerbating the discord and disharmony of our being are transformed by an evolved state of efficiency and higher resonance of our energetic frequency. Transformed in a way that allows us to garner their potency and use it as something akin to a force multiplier whereby our innate metaphysical composition grows and improves exponentially rather than a constant gradient. A reminder that a neophyte or profane individual may have in their possession powerful God Names, or ritual inculcation ultimately amounts to little use for them as their being is out of balance, their energies erratic and disharmonious. Defeating any attempt at invoking or making use of ritual magic science. Their only option is to utilize the concepts and techniques in daily practice, gaining momentum of progress, centering their energy body and allowing the process to rearrange the energetic geometry within themselves for a future day where they will be a new creature. Existing in a state where their mind, body and spirit are balanced in unison and the energy aspects of their avatar totality have become significantly more efficient. This efficiency gained can also be described as a new state wherein the finite energies are conserved. According to the ancient Toltec sorcerers and Men of Knowledge this ability to conserve and store ones energies is the most precise definition of ‘learning sorcery’ as one does not simply memorize esoteric craft or practices and suddenly find themselves in better alignment with their purpose and their path or having the ability to access their own personal power to effect the outcome of events but instead change throughout a process that affords them a state where energy is not wasted but rather stored for achieving the aforementioned abilities.
Take for example the distracting and wasteful effort of ‘want’ whether it is for money, or happiness, or any number of things on which one might fixate, a state of ‘want’ is in effect a internalized clinging to ‘lack’ as to want is to feel and experience lack of something or other. Meditation, visualization, saturation of the things that dispel the sensation or experience of ‘want’ by default neutralizes an existent energetic state of ‘lacking’ eliminating resistance and allowing the stored energy reserved to bring those things into our lives which otherwise would have been blocked and remained consistently evasive to our path and lived experience within this matrix construct reality. This is just one example of handling our own energy through control over thought, emotion, focus, fixation and distraction for the eventual benefit of achieving an evolved state of being.
Over time, if the effort and diligence brings oneself to an enhanced and evolved state of energetic harmony and efficiency something extraordinary takes place. There is within the eastern mysticism and esoteric understanding a tipping point that may be reached. This tipping point can be described as the place where the culmination of our own finite efforts bring us so close in correspondence with Source, with Spirit that the state of connection experiences a flow of energy from Source, from Spirit to such a degree that the perfection of internal energetic geometries allow for an enhancement back upon us from the very emanations of Creation, the living Spirit flows into and upon our being compelling us to a state of efficiency that supersedes what the human avatar form is competent of doing, this is referred to then as a divine form. The sentient soul then exists in a divine state. Any incarnate being who attains this state could, in a most efficient manner take the inculcation, the God Names and esoteric magic science that the neophyte or the profane individual possessed and employ the manipulation of energies for profound effect and outcome.
The misunderstanding among the monotheistic religions comes from not knowing what divinity actually is. Ignoring the nature of the universe and the cosmic forces working unseen in intensities of which they are for the most part completely oblivious of. Mindfulness, grounding the body with contact to the Earth, diligence in ritual energy work, letting go of the human tendencies to cling to material objects, or people or locations or situations, dispelling ‘want’ i.e. ‘lack’ or too rigidly identifying with the temporary incarnation they are experiencing, the ‘me’ within the myriad of sentient insertion in the World Dream, taking themselves too seriously, and letting go of fear, and exercising their changing energetic totality (exercising clairvoyance through regular practice of divination and invocation / evocation are some of the necessary techniques and concepts by which we may development the energetic geometry of our avatar form.
